Eric was born and raised in Tucson, Arizona. From the beginning, he loved both numbers and the outdoors.
Graduating in 2014 with an accounting degree from University of Arizona (Bear Down!), he became an avid mountain biker as a young adult. All while he started his career in public tax accounting, gaining experience in business, individual, and trust taxes, with a specialty in real estate businesses, he enjoyed the desert landscape throughout southern Arizona, and ultimately moved north to Prescott in 2019 for similar access to trails, but in a climate better suited for getting outside. While in Prescott, he continued working for public accounting firms, continuing to gain expertise in business accounting and taxes, individual taxes, and gained experience in non-for-profit tax returns.
In 2021, he moved to Bend, Oregon after falling in love with the amazing community and world-class access to the outdoors. In Bend, Eric continued his public tax accounting career, gaining further tax and accounting experience. As he spent more time fostering his newly found love for snowboarding at Mount Bachelor, he also shifted into corporate tax accounting, allowing him to build his knowledge of the ins and outs of corporate tax for larger companies.
Eric launched The Outdoor Accountant in 2026, as he continues his outdoor pursuits, primarily in mountain biking, snowboarding, and golf.
